We will be staying at the Beach Club in August. We've looked online and seen pictures of the rooms, but aren't sure what the resort really looks like. Some pictures have pink walls and look a little dated, others have more muted colors with plaid carpet and sand or light yellow colored bedspreads.

Which is it? Was the resort remodeled?

An example of what I think is a little frightening can be found at:

The picture on the Disney site and another example of what does not look so scary is at:

I called the resort and the fornt desk did not seem to have a clue what I was talking about, but the rooms are definitely different (note the sconces above the beds in each picture).

Maybe I'm crazy and it's a lighting trick. I don't know, but please help! This could mean the difference between staying at BC or upgrading to GF (where we have stayed before but would rather not pay for right now)!

I can't really help you with a definate answer to the question but I did notice one thing between the two sets of photos. The first set of photos are obviously older as they were taken when the BCV's were been built so they must be about 3 years old. Where as the second set of photos were taken less than a year ago so perhaps the rooms have been redecorated during that time. I have not stayed in the BC itself but have stayed in the Beach Club Villas which were excellent. The BC resort is beautiful and I really enjoyed staying there. The facilities there were good, stormalong bay is excellent and I really loved its location. Being able to walk to Epcot and MGM is really good and there is plenty to do around the boardwalk. As for upgrading to the GF that is still a delux resort like the beach club is so you should still get the same level of service at the BC. I would stick with the BC reservations.

The second picture taken in 2003 (the first 2002) is what it looks like now!
we will be at the Bc concierge on Sat I will take some pics and let you know what I think! We usually stay on theYacht side.

Thanks for all your help - no more pepto-pink walls  We're looking forward to your pics.
