Roommate matching question

I start in 17 days, and I still can't do the roommate matching thing. Is this normal to wait this long? I really want to know who one of my roommate is so that we can chat and get to know each other before we start rooming together.

Unless things have changed, Housing never opens up matching for all dates and they tell the people who can opt in for it that they may not be matched.
