Room View at Dolphin

I have reserved a deluxe king with balcony for our May visit. We really want an EPCOT firework view. The Unofficial Guide to WDW recommends rooms 8015, 7015, 5015, 4015, and 3015 (I'm not sure what's wrong with 6015!). Has anyone stayed in these rooms? If so, how was the view? How should I go about securing one of the good rooms? Was a verbal request before arriving enough?

We will be staying at the Dolphin for the first time in May also! I am very excited!

Possible something maybe obstructing the view? But, I don't think you can request an exact room there? If it's during a busy time it will be pretty tough.

Almost all of the rooms in the furthest east wing facing east will all have an Epcot view so you can see the fireworks and many of the rooms that face east in the other 3 wings that are down toward the end of the wings also will have nice views of Epcot. I'm sure there are some king rooms in there. I do know the rooms at the very end with the end balconies are king rooms and while they're great rooms some of them that only have the balcony on the end (and not at the window) can have obstructed views because there are trees in front of some of those balconies.

How can there be a balcony that's not at the window? Yuck! I don't want one of those rooms! O.K., how do I request a nice room with a balcony view of Illuminations? That's what I've been dreaming of! Should I fax right before the trip? Should I get there first thing in the morning on check-in day? Help, please!!!

I would just tell them you'd like a view of Epcot. We had a fantastic view of Illuminations in 1993 from room 8033 (picture at my website, in sig).

The balconies that aren't at the windows are in the rooms at the end of the hall. There is a door close to the entrance of the room that looks just like the regular room door, but it opens out onto a huge semi-circle balcony.

Oh, my, that is a lovely view! But, I'm curious about the balcony entrance. Is there a screen that you can close and then just leave the inside door ajar for air at night? Was there any window in the room? I think I might get claustrophobic!

Rooms with balconies usually don't have any windows either, there are some exceptions as in with suites. There are no screens.

The far east wing will give you an Epcot view and a view of the fireworks. In the photo below, we had a clear shot of the fireworks. It was NOT a king room though. As you can see, every other room has a balcony on the 5th through 9th floors:
