I am comparing rooms and noticed that polynesian rooms are significantly bigger in Tokelau than the CR rooms in the tower....we only have stayed in Tokelau and my Dh commented how big the room was...I wasn't aware it had bigger rooms than other longhouses?!?

Did anyone notice a difference in other longhouses or the CR tower rooms?

According to All Ears, the largest Poly rooms (and there are only so many of them) are 476 sq ft vs 415 sq ft, which is a 61 sq ft difference. I'm sure the little bit of extra square footage is nice (we've only stayed in Samoa), but I found our room to be very spacious with 4 people and I can't imagine the difference being that big to make the other Poly rooms (or a CR room) feel cramped and/or much different. With that said, the majority of the Poly rooms and the CR rooms are among the largest rooms of the deluxe resorts and are comparable in size (with the exception of the Tokelau rooms).

Guess we were spoiled in our tokelau rooms and didn't know it! LOL.

That would spoil you, especially since it was your first stay ::yes::.

Yes, there are some that are larger than the CR, although I'm not sure if there are other longhouses and/or how many rooms in all are larger. All of the other Poly rooms (415 sq ft) are comparable in size to the CR :).

When I did our research for our Poly stay last year, I found that 3 longhouses had the bigger rooms (we stayed in Tokelau). I also believe it is these same three that have a patio/balcony on all floors (including the 2nd floor). I have not stayed at CR, but looking at the floorplan in pics the extra space we had in Tokelau seemed pretty significant.

The 3 most recently built longhouses: Tahiti, Tokelau, and Rapa Nui all have the larger dimensions. The other longhouses were all present for the resort opening in 1971. As stated earlier, those 3 longhouses have balconies on the 2nd floor as well as wider, more spacious hallways than the original longhouses. While all of those things are definite improvements to the original longhouses, I prefer being as close as possible to the GCH and pools, so I never request the newer longhouses. But I can certainly see why people do.:thumbsup2
