Is there a site where I can compare the room sizes of the different DVC resorts?

In a nutshell, OKW is great, the rest are tiny.

The difference is not all that great until you get to one bedroom or larger.

I was waiting for Rich to reply.
Rich - I'm glad you didn't disappoint us. ;)

Thank you for the information. I see what you mean Rich. Wow, what a difference.

See, that's my whole problem, living up to the expectations of others......

Why do you people expect such stuff from me?

Why do birds fly south in the winter? It's just one of those things we all know will happen over and over again.;)

The OKW 1 BR living room & kitchen/ dining area is much bigger than the other DVC resorts, the 2 BR are bigger because of the larger lr, kitchen in the 1 BR, the studio and GV is only slightly bigger than the other DVC resorts. Our family has stayed in all of the different types of villas available at OKW, BWV, VWL, HH and last week a 2 br at BCV.

Rich, many people like your posts and actually look forward to seeing them.

This information is from an old post that someone was good enough to put on these boards:

OKW Stu 390 1 BR 1005 2 BR 1410 GV 2375

HH Stu 455 1 BR 856 2 BR 1311 GV 2362

BW Stu 359 1 BR 712 2 BR 1071 GV 2142

Vero Stu: 375 1 BR 880 2 BR 1265 GV 2125

VWL Stu 356 1 BR 727 2 BR 1083 GV none
this is from various posts over the years.

It seems to me that there is often significant variation in the dimension of accomodations as far as the decks and porches go when staying in a studio.

Are there many differences with the larger accccomodations?

From my own observation the porch on the Hilton Head Studio was 12 x 12 (at least in the room I had). The porch on the Garden View Inn Room at Vero that we had was very small - about 4 x 6. But I have read that someone on these boards had an Oceanview Inn Room with a very large outside deck at Vero. OKW Studio had a porch of about 6 x 6 if my memory serves me.

It would be great if we got more information as owners on the variations in accomodations - does anyone have any leads on this information? The basic information in our guidebooks does not reveal many of the variations that occur due to the different styles of resort construction.

But I have read that someone on these boards had an Oceanview Inn Room with a very large outside deck at Vero

Due to the shape of the Inn building at Vero, the balconies do vary in size and shape. With the oceanview, I've had a very wide and long balcony that was partially covered by the "eaves" of the building and I've had a very small narrow balcony (that room was on the end and did have a side window as well.) All of the balconies have been fine for sitting out and enjoying the ocean but they are "different".

Also due to the building, BWV has different balconies. I had one over the main pool once that had a solid piece of wood that made it impossible to see anything except when standing. This was a disappointment.

At OKW, the studio balconies appear to be at least roughly equal. The one-bedroom and larger vary between "rounded" balconies and rectangular balconies.

Pam,
The Vero DVC balcony you described seems to be the one illustrated in the virtual tour that is set up on the official vacation
club site. I was wondering what I was looking at but your explanation was a big help. Thank you for the explanations.

I've never measured the porches, but the OKW porch on the one and 2 bedroom units are big enough that they have a round table at least 3 feet in diameter, with 4 chairs. Even with people sitting in all the chairs, you can still walk around the table comfortably.
The 2 bedroom unit we stayed in at VWL had 2 balconies that were each just large enough for 2 chairs and a small (about 12 inch diameter) side table. The balconies were longer than the space needed for 2 chairs, but not a whole lot wider.
