Room service food is "free," that is, it's included in the cruise fare, and is available 24-7. Drinks (soda, beer/wine) are extra, but the food itself is free. The pizza really hits the spot at 2:30am....
Room service IS available free for any food items - but we usually gave the server a couple bucks for the trip. And, for wine, soda, etc., there's whatever the price is and the ubiquitous 15% gratuity.
We were on 4 nt Wonder in October. went with the intentions of trying everything off roomservice menu but ate too much elsewhere and never used it once. Maybe next year on 7 nt.

We've encountered that as well. In four cruises, we've probably only ordered room service once. They keep you so full from other dining options on the ship that it's hard make good use of the room service!
I plan on using it for coffee and juice at 7 as DH doesn't get up until later and we like to go for a dinning room breakfast around 9.....but maybe a little pastry to get me started....hmmmmmm
Definitely 24 hours, except for the last night of the cruise, when there is a cutoff point (not sure when it is, but maybe midnight).

Sorry to be the bubble burster here, but don't get your hopes up too much - we didn't think the food was that good from room service. I couldn't wait to get the port of call salad and it was just o.k. My cheese wasn't even melted on the "traditional grilled ham and cheese" and everybody talks about how the chocolate chip cookies are the best they have ever eaten and to me they were like any other chocolate chip cookies. I really don't mean to be so negative but that was just my experience. Now if you want to talk about how good the chocolate Mickey waffles were - I can do that. My mouth still waters for them........
Try the All Hands on Deck which is assorted cheeses and crackers and try the Fruit bowl. I wish I knew where they were getting there fruit from because the ripeness was perfect.
We've made two cruises on the Magic and go for two more in January. We never ordered room service ... we had no room to eat it. Plus we only stay in our rooms to sleep (a little) and clean up. We are out doing things most of the day. Besides I can sleep at home when I'm not on vacation!

I think it depends how fresh the cookies are. I got some one afrternoon next to the beverage station and they were about the best I have ever tasted but got some a couple of days later and nowhere near as nice.

We didn't really use room service much. We had sooo much food at meals that we didn't want much else! In retrospect, I wish I'd utilized room service for breakfast.
We did order PB&Js for our children while Dad and I were dressing for Palo. We also let the children order chocolate chip cookies once -- more because they were intrigued by the idea of someone bringing the cookies to them than because they were hungry.
On our cruise in May I kept intending to order the cheese platter, but we were way too stuffed the entire cruise. But it was definitely nice to order coffee the minute we woke up in the morning. I couldn't believe how fast they delivered it. I don't think they ever took more than 15 minutes. It takes me longer than that to get out of bed and put the coffee on when I'm at home.
We used room service the first night to order the All on Deck cheese platter. After that our room service attendant Ernesto brought something special to us every night!!! When we came back from Castway Cay he had a wonderful plate of fruit waiting on us!! And one night he brought an assortment of cookies for our DS! We thought the room sevice was great!!! Ernesto was the best!!!
