room service on disney cruises?

we would order room service, normally chicken fingers or a sandwhich, before the early show. That way our DS would not be hungry during the show. It worked out really well in that he was fed and then after the show, we would have dinner just the two of us and he would go play.

My kids really thought it was a treat when we got back to our room late in the evening and ordered room service. A nice tray of oatmeal and choc. chip cookies with milk for them, coffee for me while we sat in our PJ's and watched a bit of Disney on the TV snuggled in the bed. It was a lot of fun!!! Maybe the cookies were so wonderful because of the setting and the company I had while enjoying them :p For whatever reason, it was pretty great!

Ginger is right. You can order your coffee and such for the moring the night before. But we never knew exactly what time we would be up in the moring, so we just ordered coffee right when we woke up each morning. Then we headed for the buffet later in the morning for breakfast.

My DD has become a room service junkie....Rice Krispies and Big Island Cookies and milk....also chicken fingers and chicken noodle soup at any hour of the day or night.

Rooms service is not available when we first board (but the Topsider buffet and Parrot Cay are open), and is not available after midnight on the last night. The menu is a bit limited, but there is always something to fit your need. ANd it has improved over the years.

While it is not required, it is common practice to tip the server who delivers it to your room $1-2.

Love room service - great for lunch when you just don't feel like heading down to the restaurants and want some quiet time on the verandah.

Also, highly recommend it for romantic sunsets with your significant other......you just never know!!

We order coffee every morning so we can have a cup while enjoying the verandah first thing in the am. On our last cruise we ordered a couple of the cheese platter for a happy hour and games we had with friends of ours, it was great. My boys love getting dinner from there on the night we go to Palo, they think it's just the best. It's nice to know it's available even if you don't use it!

As I sit here at work awaiting our first snow storm of the season, the vision of breakfast & coffee on my verandah just warms me all up.:sunny:

We have sailed the Wonder twice and never made use of room service at all. WE didn't really have any need to as there is so much food available at meal times that we were never really hungry.

However, I like the idea of coffee in the morning. I was confused regarding the charging for room service. The food, coffee, tea is all included in the cost of the cruise right, it's just soda that has a charge?

I will DEFINATELY use this on Magic in January.

:cool1:

We loved room service. The All Hands on Deck platter is great! It never took over ten minutes to get our order, no matter what time of day it was. My daughter could not decide between two things so ordered both, which is the luxury of it being included. Yes, we always tip a few dollars, depending on how much we order. It is well worth it.

We cruised last week, and ordered Room Service several times. We even ended up eating our dd's pb&j's, they are the Smucker's ones! :p The cheese platter was ok, and the 4 cheese pizza was really yummy! We are still trying to figure out who daily sent Mickey bars to our friends adjoining rooms! They think it was us! Now, that was a yummy snack!!! ::yes::

I'm another one that loves to take advantage of room service for morning coffee. I'm an early riser, so I order coffee and a coissant the night before and enjoy it on the veranda with a good book, while waiting for everyone else to wake up.

The kids love room service and for some of the excursions, it came in real handy. In Cozumel, my daughter went on the teen cruise. Since she had to meet everyone at 5:45pm, it was too early for dinner. SO, she ordered something when she got back to the room.

My DD became a room service "freak." She loves calling and ordering "big island cookies," and having the person who answers knowing her name and cabin number before she tells them! It is like the ultimate "high" that she can call any time and get whatever she wants. Unfortunately, I've had to advise her that this is a special treat on the cruise, and CAN'T happen in various hotels, etc!

With late dinner, we frequently get a late afternoon snack....
