We are just about ready to purchase 200 pts at SSR, but the guide said his paperwork did not say whether or not room service was planned here. Do any of you have any other information? I know there is a restaurant planned here (Artist Pallate (?sp)). I was wondering if anyone here had any inside info. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Kathy

I read somewhere that there was going to be food delivery available to the villas. I'm assuming the food would come from the on-site food service area.

If I can remember where I read it I will try and provide the link.

If it is like the other DVC resorts. I am sure there will be a good selection.

Besides, it is close to DTD, so you have the bonus of those as well.

I thought maybe it was mentioned in the flyer we received but I can't find it.

I'll keep looking.

It seemed to suggest it was going to be "food delivery" from the on-site upscale food court and not actual "room service".

Thanks to all for your help! Food delivery is just as good. And I am sure my DD will want to go for dinner one nght at Rainforest Cafe at DTD. The Rainforest near us closed and she misses it!

Thanks again, Kathy

I just purchased 200 points at SSR a few days ago. My Guide said there will be standard DVC room service. Which is a "trash & tidy" every 4 days

I also read that there will be food delivery to the villas--can't remember where, but it stated that at the food court you could grab and go, grab and sit, or have food delivered to your villa. I wonder if this is going to be where you call up for the delivery, like room service, or where you place the order at the food court and ask that it be delivered at a certain time.

Found It!!
Go to the DVC web site and go into the newsletter archives and click on Aug. 2003. It states under Developer news that "Guests at SSR will have choices of how food is served to them:delivery to a Vacation home...."

Hope this helps!:D

Trish

My understanding is that there will not be a "full service" restaurant, but an "upscale food court." My impression is that SSR is going to be more of the "condo" model than the "hotel" model.
