Room Requests

Hi everyone
How accommodating is member services with room requests? For example if you’ve booked a lake view at say VGF and some of those rooms face more towards MK than others are you able to call member services after booking online to request a more specific view?

First, since hold times are currently long when calling MS I would e-mail or chat. As far as the request, you could just state your wish for room location. I've been pleasantly surprised at how close to my request was the room I've received most times. Just don't get too specific since if the request can't be filled you could get put anywhere.

Requests are just that and not guaranteed. You can put them in and it is recommended if you do, don’t choose anything when doing online check in.

My luck with requests when it includes specifics is not very good. But things like close to elevator or not first floor have come in a lot more.

There are not any MK views from GFV except the highest floors from a Grand villa.

In our experience, room requests are hilariously hit or miss. We've had room requests nailed down perfectly in some situations and other situations where we got a room that incredibly fit none of our criteria. The cast members generally try, but you're largely at the mercy of a computer.

No harm in asking but don't be surprised if you don't get it (or anything even near it). We've had good luck with requests but also know that we might get something completely different than we were hoping.

I’ve had luck giving them five or six room numbers. For a BWV boardwalk view studio, I give them 5029, 5031, 4029, 4031, 3029, 3031. They are the closest studios to the elevators on 3, 4, 5. Got one of them 3 of last 4 years. I email Member Services and also use Touring Plans.

We haven’t stayed there yet but looking at a map it seems like some lake view rooms face more towards TTC and some face more towards MK (looks like more facing the lake towards TTC). Is this correct? Aside from the grand villas on the end are there any that would face direct enough to see the fireworks from your balcony? Thanks

Oddly enough, a couple of the Standards do. But only a couple, and fireworks are still not happening with no planned return dates.

I have had one request met in 20 years. If I ask for "top floor" I'm in the middle. If I ask for "low floor" I'm in the middle. If I ask for near the elevators, I'm halfway down the hall. The only request we've ever had met was for two rooms close to each other (and they were right next to each other). The plus to all of this is that I've learned that the "middle" rooms can be a great compromise.

It doesn't hurt to ask. It can hurt to expect the request will be honored.
