if we are using the TP fax request, is it helpful to copy that info for online check in too, or not? Does it matter when I do online check-in? Our trip is about a month away...

I matched my online check in to TP and got what I asked for at Beach Club. Hoping for the same success at POP next month.

Online check-in for Poly, at least at the moment, only gives you one option - “Balcony” - so to the extent your TP fax request had anything different, it’s not really possible to “copy that info” to online check-in.

For me, when I submit requests in advance (via calling, touring plans, etc), I leave the online check-in room request options blank.

Thanks! I was thinking there’d be a text box for comments on there but have never done online check in before. Any particular time I should do it?

They start assigning the rooms a few days before your arrival. I don't think it matters when you do online checkin if you do it before before then.

Yeah, no text box, just two drop down menus (both only have the “balcony” option at the moment).

To me, it doesn’t necessarily matter when you do online check-in if you are submitting room requests via another method. Rooms are assigned several days (eg, 5ish) ahead of time, so getting your room requests in before that is the important milestone. Since it sounds like you’re using TP fax request, I’d do that now just so you don’t forget later (if you haven’t already). There’s otherwise no material magic to the timing of online check-in, from my perspective. I will often just go ahead and do it when available as that’s one less thing to worry about/remember later.

FWIW, you can go to the My Disney Experience part of the website and play around with online check-in now without saving anything, if you want to see how it works.

Good luck!

Thanks! I do already have the TP request set up. So I should be set. I’ll look at it again in January to see if they’ve loaded the new standard room category yet. I think the room we’re requesting is still standard but not sure.

We've done the TP fax request and I also do online check-in. I either keep the requests on the online check-in blank or I make requests (if available) that reiterate what I've requested through TP.

Exactly. The key is to not contradict the TP request with the online check-in requests. Including do NOT check the “early arrival is most important” box.

I normally don't put a room request on online check-in because it's so generic (corner room, ground floor, etc). When I've requested through TP, I've gotten the building requested, so I depend on that.
