room requests for std studio at Poly and VWL?

I am lucky enough to have a split stay at VWL, then Poly. I have never stayed at either.
I found the room location/number map on DVCnews, but it is so small and my magnifiying glass was not strong enough to make it big enough for me to use it.
What would you recommend at VWL?
I thought Tokulu at Poly, may be request near pool?

Tokelau would be a good request for Poly. There are apparently a few rooms near the end of the building that actually have a non direct view of the lake and MK in the distance. Keep in mind the whole longhouse is "near the oasis pool" so if you want to have a view of the pool you would want to say that not just "near pool". The other side of Tokelau looks out toward the lawn area between it, Pago Pago, and Moorea. Not sure about VWL request-only stayed in the hotel there previously.

I was lucky enough to score one of those MK firework view rooms last month. Could even hear the music piped in from the beach They are at the lagoon end of Tokelau.

My request for a standard at Poly is Tokelau upper floor... prefer the balcony to the patio. It's a request I have so far always gotten.

If you have a Touring Plans subscription (I think it's like $12 for a year) they have photographed the view from almost every room at every WDW hotel in good quality. Tons of other great resources on that site that make it well worth the $12, IMO.

What would you recommend at VWL?

VWL is a major construction zone...here's a picture taken a few weeks ago outside of VWL:



To avoid looking at this, you can request an even numbered room which will put you on the side of the resort without construction. But remember it is just a request and half of the villas have the view that is shown above. Best bet is to request that even numbered room which gives them the most villas to choose from.
