Room requests for POR, also Grand Gathering

We leave next week for our trip--three families so we are Grand Gathering. I have read up on room requests so I just want to confirm that I am doing the right thing.

First, we are requesting either buildings 27, 14, 15 as these seem to be close to bus, food and pool. If anyone has input on that please share!

Second, we'd like to all be in the same building.

I should call the grand gathering reservation # and make these requests this week and then follow up 4 days prior with a fax directly to the hotel?

I would double check that the grand gathering number is attached to all of you room reservations. From what I've read on these boards, the hotels no longer accept faxes about room requests. You are supposed to note it with your reservation and hope for the best.
