Room requests for Cabanas-CSR?

What are the chances of getting my room request for a first floor room in Cabanas in the beginning of May fulfilled?

I have gotten cabanas both visits. I think because you are going during a quieter time your chances are quite good. We have gone during Presidents week which is a busy time and not only gotten Cabanas, but ground floor and the Cabana we wanted both times (8A).

If there is a convention, they do tie up one Cabana building and alot of Casitas, and Casitas is the most requested from what I've read.

May not get all the requests, but you have a good chance of getting the area you want.

If you get there and they have given you something else, ask again.

I'm being flip but agree that most of the time the request gods will smile on you unless they are really angry or busy.

The CSR CMs will try to accommodate you. It depends entirely on how full the resort is and how many other people have requested cabanas. The cabanas section is a very popular request with families. We always request cabanas and have always gotten it.

If you haven't already, make the request on your reservation. I would not use online check-in since you would likely request a room change if you are not assigned first floor cabanas. Be willing to wait for a room and/or to move the next day.

I request Cabanas for our stay this past March, and we ended up in Casitas. But we ended up loving that section! So try to not get too attached to any one section ahead of time. You just won't know where you will be until you get there.

Btw, the request gods rarely every smile on us. I find it is better to be happy when you get a request met, then to be angry if you don't. Makes for a nicer start to the trip.

When you check-in and if you did not get the Cabanas area, just politely ask the CM is there is anything available in that section. A lot can change in the time between your room assignment by the computer and the time you check-in.

We did get our room in Cabanas - but it was literally the furthest room in Cabana from the main building - the building next door was Ranchos and we were in the back facing the parking lot on a corner. At first I thought it was a terrible location but by the end of the first day I loved it. We went out the door, around the corner, down the stairs and were literally at the quiet pool; straight across the parking lot to the bus stop and the walk to the main building was actually quite short. We also had a very short walk across a bridge to the main pool. We were on the top floor where we had requested a ground floor but it really wasn't an issue. There are elevators but we didn't use them.
