room request

I am leaving for the poly in 40 days..I notice that people seem to call the hotel direct before they leave to get in their room request. Should I do this also? I have never done that before but I want to be sure to get a third floor lagoon view. Do many of you do this?

Hi! It is suggested that your request be included on your inital reservation. If you would like to follow up on that request, it is recommended that you do so by fax to the resort. There are tips for faxing a request on the All Ears Net website. Remember, your request is merely that, not a guarantee. Depending on availability you may or may not get it, keep that in mind. I have heard that the faxes are a thing of the past. They would prefer you do not fax any more. Calling CRO and having it put on the ressie is the first thing you should do however, and yes you can call 5 days in advance to the resort to double check, I have done this before without problem as have others on this board.

I have faxed a, not too specific request the last 3 visits, and have gotten what I requested all 3 times, and was upgraded 2 of those times. I don't ask for anything specific, .ie room with a day bed near the lobby,near the pool, or near the bus stop, ect. I,m not sure how well it works if you ask for a particular room, floor, or view.

I called and it helped. And the reason I called was because CRO said to.

I requested a 3rd floor Toukela (sp?) because I thought I had a good chance at a larger longhouse to get a 3rd floor balcony.
I called 3 days before and had a very nice chat with a CM, I was friendly and made sure she knew I knew it was a "request"... it was a very nice chat I included other questions... etc

When we checked in at 10:30AM on a Friday, our room was ready, and it was a 2nd floor room... (hmmm should I wait, as I look at where she is placing us... it was in the longhouse NEAREST the Ceremonial house closer to the TTC center... so I kept my mouth shut - and I enjoyed every minute we were there!!
