Room request with on-line check in

Can anyone help me out? Usually my family and I check into our location very early (generally around 7 a.m.) knowing the room probably won't be ready. But it gives us a chance to put our food into the cold room and make it to rope drop on our first day in the parks. Because we check in early we request a savannah room while staying in a value studio at AKV. This has worked out for us the past few years.

This year we won't be able to get onto property that early and we realize we won't be the first ones at the front desk on arrival day to put in that savannah request. Is it possible to request a room through on-line check in? Has anyone done it? Did it work? I've read some posts that have said DVC is no longer taking room requests of any kind, but I've seen people posting that they requested a certain location and have gotten it. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks so much

You can't put view requests on the online check-in form. You need to add your request to your reservation by e-mailing/calling member services.

I hadn't heard that they were not taking room requests of any kind. I heard they were not taking view requests for AKV Conceirge level. One thing to keep in mind with a small number of rooms in a category, you might be the only one checking in that day.

I have heard that they are not taking the requests for the values at AKV. I think it is because everyone was requesting savannah view so it just made no sense and this eliminates someone from getting upset that their "request" was not met.

Having said that, however, I have also read on here that some have called MS and asked if the request can be put on the reservation and they were told it was.

We're at OKW right now. I had asked for building 47 or 48, a 2 bdrm on the first floor when I booked over the phone. I had never used on-line check-in prior to this visit but based on comments on the boards decided to give it a try. We arrived on Saturday at approx 12:30 pm. No one at the on-line check-in desk and the entire process took 5 min. Our room was ready - 4713, just as requested. So, for now, I'm a believer. I had also indicated that we were here celebrating my SIL's safe return from Afghanistan so I don't know if that had any influence. When we entered the room, there was a star spangled Mickey portrait signed by some 20 cast members - what a nice treat!!
