Room request...which one would you do?

Hello! We are thinking of moving our November room res. from CBR over to POR. We have never been there and we really would love to try it! We would like to make a room request...but want to keep it simple as it may be more likely to be honored. We are booking a standard room. Would you request to either have a closer Alligator Bayou building to the main pool (#16 or 17) or would you request to be in a mansion room? Thank you for the advice

Hi Nemorocks , isn't that funny...I just changed my resort also today from CBR to POR ! The main reason for the change is the upgrading of their rooms from double to queen and all the new furnishings that will go along with it. I will miss the CBR palm trees and hammocks , but said to myself,that I'll book that next time ...hopefully after they have changed over to queen beds ( as I have heard rumors about this in Disboards ). Plus my dd is 16 and although the Pirate themed pool is wonderful for younger kids ...she would not at all enjoy it ! So hoping I'll love the new upgrades. We stayesd back in 2000 and there were 5 of us and we had the AB rooms with the trundle bed on the floor. It was tight with all 5 of us in the room for 1 week . Hoping for a Mansion room this time...a queen bed for each of us !!!

Meg&Minnie, that is funny! We have not yet changed our resort res...but I'm almost positive we will today when the kids are in bed and can't hear me on the phone! What week are you guys going? We are really torn between requesting a mansion room or an AB room. I think we will be happy with either...but we can't decide which one we might like better. We really loved CBR as well last year, but we decided to give the kids a little different experience this time so we'll see!

We always request a room AB because it feels more homey there are more trees and you feel like you are in the south. The mansions are nice but you have more open space. I enjoy the feel of AB better the noise carry more in the mansion area with not as many trees to keep the sound down. This is my family's favorite resort.

My children are older (12 and 17) and love the mansion rooms. My children loved the theme pool; however, they enjoyed the quiet pools near the room better. When we arrived back from the parks late at night they would go for a quick swim to cool off and relax before bed. We absolutely loved POR, and I don't think you will go wrong with either AB or Mansions. Enjoy your trip!

We stayed at POR last year in the mansions and we loved it. I'd like to stay at CBR but the double beds are keeping me away. I would return the POR in a heartbeat, but I would ask for a room in AB so we could get a room with a Murphy Bed. Have a great trip.

We've stayed in the Mansions and thought it was beautiful! The grounds were gorgeous and the walk to the food court was very relaxing along the river. We haven't stayed in AB because the decor doesn't appeal to us. You'll love POR!

I also favor the mansions, we stayed in a standard room in Acadian House last year. It did face the parking lot, but we never had anyone walk by our room, since it was all the way at the end. We were close to the quiet pool, as well as the perimeter bus stop. Very nice location.
