We're staying at SSR in September, 2BR. My 80-yr-old parents will be with us, and my dad has a bit of trouble walking - would be nice to get a room close to the parking lot, pool and Artist Pallette. From looking at the map, we'd want The Springs area. The only request I made to MS was non-smoking. This is our very first visit "home", so I don't know much about room requests. Is that done at check in, or do I need to contact MS a few weeks before arrival, or ???
TIA! :teeth:

I would call back now and tell them about your 80 year old situation and ask for their help with suggestions regarding requests to make life easier 80 year old. They should add them to your requests and ask them to send you a copy of the new reservation with the added requests. If he has a real serious walking problem make sure they add "medical" reasons to the request.

Only the Congress Park buildings will be open in 2004. The Springs does not begin to open until 2005.

The middle two buildings will be the closest to the bus stop, so that would be my suggestion. All four are just about equidistant from High Rock Spring and Artist's Palette. I made that walk several times and thought it was only about 5-7 minutes. But don't forget you can always hop on a theme park bus at the stop near your room, and then get off at the Carriage House--save yourself the walk.

I do agree with Pa@okw95's suggestion about getting another printed confirmation that shows the requests. Last time I added on an additional request after making the initial booking, the resort had no record of the additional request at check-in.

All SSR buildings will have parking right outside (behind) the resort building.
