Room Request Question

I think it depends on resort. My initial assignment this week was pretty much the opposite of what I requested, and what I requested was absolutely possible in my booking category, and there are about 45 rooms that meet the description of my request, with an additional 30 that are close.

Some resorts seem to try harder at filling requests than others, that's for sure.

First off I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post this.

Hello all,

We will be going to Disney BW Deluxe Villas this December. I have requested a room through my travel agent, which she says is the best way of doing it. However, is doing Tourplans room request an added % chance or?

What about the possibility of being upgraded for free, does this ever happen? If I check in early, will my chances for being upgraded (if any) be ruined since I am skipping the front desk? I feel like I've read and heard about a lot of people being upgraded for what they originally had.

Thanks!
As others have pointed out, your chances of being "upgraded" are pretty slim. All DVC resort villas have been booked up for December for months.

Using TP fax will give the room assigner an idea of what area of the resort you would like to be placed in but too many requests can just confuse things. If your TA already put in a room request, I would suggest that you skip the room request section for online check in. The room assigner will take the most recent request and toss out the others. Since online checkin only allows a few choices (like upper floor, lower floor, near elevator), it won't get you anything better than the one that your TA sends on your behalf.

Technically, they did select to generate the fax while viewing a specific room on the room layout. You click on a room on the layout that you like and their system bases the fax off that specific room but it does not request that specific room, it lists all rooms with the same features as that room. It's possible OP doesn't even realize that's how the room request system works but it is. If you go in and edit the fax you can see what it does.

Yes, I went in and selected the fax, it does have a room assigned to it but also leaves a field for additional requests. I just put in upper floor preferred near my selection and thanks so much! Hopefully this aides us but I don't really think we will be disappointed either way.

Thanks for the info!

When would be the best time to submit the room request? ASAP? A week before checkin?

I thought about the TP fax but I'm thinking calling Disney might be better?
