Room Request Question

I am sure this question has been answered many times but when should you make a room request? Should you fax a request a few days before you leave or ask for something when you check in? I have a woods view with bunk beds at WL and was curious if I could make a specific area request.:hippie:

You should make any requests when you make your reservation. That way, they're on your reservation and not likely to get lost, misdirected, etc.

That's what I do too, I always make my requests when I make my reservation.

Allears keeps pretty good track of the trends and they've reported that the WL is one resort that definitely disregards fax requests. As others have mentioned, if you want to have something specific noted, have it added to your existing reservation.

I gave them my request when I made my original reservations. The reservationist said just to make sure that I got a good shot at where I wanted to be, I needed to fax my request 1 month ahead of time, then call 1 week before I got there. I did just that and when I got to Disney, I got the exact location that I requested. I would rather be safe than sorry!:dance3:

Wilderness Lodge is one resort that made an official policy of not accepting faxes. Some other resort do at times but at other times they are ignored also.

I would never risk a fax when I know that my requests if I have any, are with my reservation.

The best method is list them with your reservation, check back with CRO before you go about 10 days out and make sure they are listed and check in early and ask again.

Recently returned from the WL..I did indicate on our reservation where we wanted to be. We had Courtyard view..but wanted a view of the Villa Pool...as it is the same rate as Courtyard view. I could also tell during the conversation the reservationist had no knowledge of the resort. We had two rooms..traveling with my older son. When we went to our rooms..they WERE NOT of the Pool..but of a courtyard of the Villas. I called the front desk..and they told me they were trying to keep us together..that's why the rooms where further down the path..not looking at the Villa Pool. I told them, that while I appreciate that they saw the same last names and the reservations were linked..it wasn't necessary to keep us together(my son is 26...and I think he's okay in his own room!:lmao: ). That being the case they did move us further down the hall, where we had a lovely view of the Villa Pool. My son..he didn't care he stayed where he was. We were all of 5 rooms away from each other. So..even though I indicated on the reservation where it was we wanted to stay..and view, they also noted that the reservations were "linked"..and went with that as a priority over the location. While I see some have indicated that the WL doesn't accept room request faxes...personally speaking if they have a fax number...I'd send one. If they throw it out..or it's refused...then so be it. I know on our prior visit...I did fax and had exactly the room we requested. In any case..if for some reason you are not satisfied with the location of your room, call the front desk right away...they were very accomodating, and I'm sure they can help you get to where you want to be.:thumbsup2
