room request/on line check in

anyone else not able to put in a room request when using the membr site on line check in? Or am I just techno challenged, which is entirely possible.

When I did the online check-in last week, something must have been wrong, because the area to put in requests wasn't working. I wanted to put in "close to the elevators" (AKV), but the box to do that wasn't active. There was no way to type it in.

though all request had to go thru MS in the first place.

I did make a request when I made the reservation, but it's not noted on the hard copy I have. Didn't they used to put requests on the reservation copy that we receive? That's what made me want to do it again, because it's not noted. So what's the best way to get a request on?

I am under the impression that you can make a request (room location, specific building, etc...) for anything that is not a booking category. There is a section for requests when checking in online and I wanted to try for a room close to the elevators at Kidani. It isn't guaranteed of course, but neither are those requests through MS. I didn't call MS with the request, b/c it really won't matter if I'm close to the elevators. Just thought I would try it and unfortunately it wasn't working!

When I requested a DTD view at SSR, it was not noted on my confirmation. Perhaps b/c it's not guaranteed?

I requested 1st floor and it is listed on my hard copy.

The online system is not really designed for requests for DVC members.
Just give MS a call so that it can be added to your reservation.

I have been under the impression you cannot make hotel (non DVC) requests either. We checked in last night and DH made me click on the request button. All that came up was a pop up for ground floor (HA, I suppose), pack n play, fridge and one other I knew I wouldn't think of while typing.

All my requests have been made through MS. I have never seen them on my hard copy. At BWV, my request was granted (one reason I sort of like online checkin). I will know tomorrow at 11 PM if my SSR requests were granted.

I feel like the person doing online checkin in the morning is just going to grant the requests and be done. They are in no rush and so can look to fulfill. Then no one can ask for a change and have it granted by taking my room (though I know it's a little frowned upon to ask for changes in DVC). But I feel like once my room is locked in first thing in the morning, it will stay mine until my rather late arrival. We'll see if my theory goes 2 for 2.....
