Ok, first time at Poly and first time staying on Disney property. We booked a gv at Poly for Oct 13-20. When/how do you go about submitting a specific room request??? We would love to have a balcony or patio, and the best view possible, any suggestions on what "house" I may want to request? How soon can I submit the request??? Any help is appreciated!!!
Thanks!!!

You should make a request when you make the res.
or you can ask for what you want when you check in.
Go to Tikimans site.

He has all the info on rooms and blds. you will need. On all of the poly for that matter.
It is a GREAT site! I am going in July and I put in a request for Tokelau Longhouse.
I have never been to this resort, but I am looking forward to it! This has always been my dream resort.
Have a fun trip!

I agree with the previous poster, check out Tikiman's site. It is a wealth of information & photos.

Based on my recent trip, a good choice would be to request the 1st or 3rd floor of Samoa facing the Volcano pool. We were on the opposite side of the building, but noticed that the rooms on the volcano pool side had views of the lagoon, while still being classified as 'garden view'. Plus, Samoa is in a very central location.

I agree; just returned from a stay aug 21-28 at Poly. We stayed in Samoa, volcano side, first floor (room 1608). We put that request in (requested rooms 1601-1610), but were assigned the 2nd floor (no balconies!). We arrived at 6 am to check in and get our tickets and asked if there was any 1st floor available. There was, but the person had late check out (probably the reason we did not get assigned there to begin with). We were not able to get into the room until ~5:30 (instead of 3) but it was well worth the wait! So put your request on the reservation, and if if you don't get what you want, be sure to ask again anyway at check-in! Samoa is great if you want to be by the volcano pool (awesome for us, we just hopped in and out of the room through our sliding glass doors). Also, it is right next to the Ceremonial House (food, monorail, etc.) Very convenient. One or two nights it was a little noisy from the pool, although it's cooler at night in Oct and you might not have that problem. (It didn't prevent me from sleeping, but if you're a light sleeper??)
Loved Samoa!!!
