Never stayed here before. Making a room request through TP and not sure what to look for. Standard/double beds. We will be driving to all the parks from the resort. Want something that's easy access for that purpose. Noise and food court proximity aren't a big issue. Thoughts?

We've stayed Homerun and Hoops just steps from our car. We requested the section and Landscape View.

I think Center Court could also work.

Surfs up is Preferred and I would totally avoid Touchdown.

The Center Court section is a great place to be if you are driving, very close to parking. I always request this section when we are driving. I also agree with the advice to totally avoid the Touchdown section.

Just curious why you wouldn't request Touchdown. We will be staying at Sports in Sept and that is the building I was thinking of requesting?

Touchdown is farther from the parking lots, so if the main priority is close to where you can park your car homerun, "baseball", would be best I think. That is where we requested and stayed. We also requested ground floor to make parking lot access easier. As a bonus we were also close to the quiet baseball pool and a quick walk to the food court. We could walk around on the outside sidewalk to the bus stop rather than through the lobby too which seemed quicker to us. Our daughter like that pool better than the surf's up pool.

In the middle of the buildings is a football field made of turf not real grass so it's very popular. When there are any kind of groups there this is where they gather for practices, hanging out, games, frisbee, football. Also seems to be a good play area for families with young children to run around and get their "sillies" out while parents sit on benches. It always seem to be busy and very loud. The teams will actually practice until late past bed time. I got to where I hated walking through it to Homerun so next trip I booked Hoops - which we found very quiet and peaceful.

If @WEDWDW pops in here, they can share some crowd pictures. :scared1:

We wanted close to transportation as we didn't drive. We asked for connecting rooms close to transportation. We were in center court building 5 but on the first floor right behind surfs up. It would be the perfect location if driving (and it was good for us). We were within a quick walk to the main building, but the parking area was even closer.

I see that Surf's Up is a request. Aren't all preferred in Surf's Up? Would it be a waste of a request to click that if we have a standard room booked? Why is it a request at all if all preferred stay there and all standard stay in other areas?

What do they mean by landscape view? Is this the side of the hotel NOT where the football field is for instance?

That would be my "GUESS"-that "Landscape View" would be views "opposite" of Surfboard Bay,"Hoops Courtyard",the Tennis "court",the Football Field and Grand Slam Pool.:)

That doesn't look to inviting. Do you think we'll see this in September?
You should be fine.:)

There may be a few Soccer,Softball, etc. teams there but nothing major.

Cheer/Dance "season" is January through The Summit in early May,(except for Pop Warner Cheerleading in early December)

The pictures are from Cheerleading and Dance Worlds, one of the largest,if not the largest competition in the World.

It's held in late April each year.

It's really amazing to watch them practice-they throw those girls up to the 3rd floor of Touchdown!

Also, the 15s should be long gone by September(however there can always be a group or 2 now at just about any time).:)

Have a Sporty time at All-Star Sports!:)

Thanks for the info. We usually stay at Movies but it wasn't included this year for the free dining bounceback. Haven't stayed at Sports in 9 years and that year we went in October. We stayed at Hoops facing the football field and it wasn't an issue. Hoping for the same this year.

We just stayed at Sports in November. We had a nice room in the baseball section, number 8323. It was on the 3rd floor facing away from the pool side. It was very quiet, and yet the pool was just an elevator ride away. It only took a few minutes to walk to the main building, as compared to AoA - which has the longest walk ever to the little Mermaid section from the main building. It was nice because there wasn't a lot of foot traffic walking by every 2 minutes, like if you stayed in the football section.

No. That was the Cheer/Dance Nationals that happen in May. Nothing like that scheduled for September.

Oh no, now I'm scared lol. I just booked Sports for mid May. Is that typical for this time of year?
