I know that all room requests are not honored, but I would like to try

We are staying in a garden view room (it was the only option for our dates). Is the lagoon view really better than the garden view?

We are a family of 5. We are going to request upper level. We will need the pull out sofa in addition to the 2 queen beds.


1. Which building would you request? Why?

For the building you suggested:

2. How long is the walk to the monorail?
3. How long of a walk to the pool?
4. How long of a walk to the main food/shopping?

It is my opinion that views are overrated when you are in WDW. I know I know....parking lots and roofs are not pretty to see, but unless I am at AKL and want Savannah view I usually book standard. I was lucky enough to be given a Castle View at Grand, and I admit it was pretty sweet! But I would not have paid for it.

Anyway, I have stayed in Conch Cay and Sago Cay, and I liked both locations. There are benefits as well as deficits to both location, the most notable in COnch being the boat horns. They did not bother me, but I noticed.

I think that there is no location that is more than a five minute walk to anywhere, the main building, the pools or the boat launch.

I like Sago because the garden view can be of the marina. We had lagoon view in BPK and it was okay, but nothing special. The last time we were there, February, we had garden view booked and were put into BC with a spectacular view of Cinderalla's Castle and the MK -- I hope you get the same pixie dust! Note, it is not a pullout sofa, it is a pull the back flat day bed -- I slept on that and it was actually quite comfortable.

Do you know which rooms have the 2 queens plus daybed vs just the two queens?

I believe all of the standard queen rooms have daybeds at the Grand. I don't think the king room I had in 2014 had a daybed, we had to suffer with just a regular sofa. This is what it looks like:
