Hi all!

We are booked in a studio from 4/10-14 at Boulder Ridge. Wonder if anyone who has stayed there previously has any thoughts on room requests. I've stayed in the Lodge itself and visited several times so am familiar with the layout of the resort in general. We are all able bodied folks who aren't scared of walking lots so that isn't really a concern. I think our priority would be having the nicest view from the balcony. Any thoughts you'd care to share?
TIA!

I know this is old, but great question. I was about to post the same question. ;)

Have you checked out Touring Plan’s room request finder? You put in your room type, and you can see where they are in the building and there’s photos uploaded from the room balconies. The far end of the building has a notorious view of laundry carts and lights on all night, so you should really check it out.

Definitely not 4533, it's the only studio room in the building with no balcony. I got assigned it last summer and declined it.

Good to know, I’ll add that to my not to request list.
I’m guessing their aren’t too many bad rooms, just a view with not great views or like that one with no balcony.

We opted to stay an additional night in late August due to a hurricane possibly arriving in the area the morning of our original flight home. To save points (we would only be in the room a few hours since we had a 4:00 a.m. airport pickup), we opted for a studio and were assigned #4560. It was at the very end of the hall. There was no view to speak of, although that wasn‘t a concern for our brief stay. The unit itself was nice enough and newly renovated. But the walk to the elevator was a long one.

I just usually pick close to elevator and leave it at that. BRV does have some really long hallways and I don't care to schlep my stuff too far. Last time I did this I got a first floor unit (so elevator was not an issue) but it was like the first unit down the hallway, so it was fine for me.

If you want a lake view, request an odd numbered room. Also, the fifth floor studios still have the pull out sofas instead of the Murphy beds (though the sofas were replaced in the renovation). Like others have suggested, look at Touring Plans, excellent website.
