Room request for Poly?

First I want to thank tikiman for the wonderful website on the Poly, I just read thru all the descriptions of the longhouses and will be spending more time reading thru the rest of it as I am able to.

We're booked for 4 nights in Dec in a garden view at the Poly. I figure getting a castle view from our room will be a long shot so I want to be close to a beach that has a good view of the castle so we can walk to our view easily, we don't mind walking to the main building/pools. From what I read would my best request be for Tokelau 3rd floor close to the beach (and hope for a castle view from the room)? These rooms also look like they'd be away from main paths and quieter which is another thing I'm looking for.

Welcome to the DIS, Calie J!

I stayed in Tokelau in August of 2003, and we found it to be an ideal location. We were on the first floor facing the quiet pool. We were lucky enough to have one of the garden view rooms that had a sideways view of the lagoon, and the Grand Floridian.

I don't know if any of the rooms in Tokelau would have a view of the castle--people pay big bucks for castle view rooms. I really wouldn't hope for a castle view with a garden view room (then there's no disappointment, and if it happens, it's a bonus . If you were in Tokelau, you'd be just steps away from the beach, and you could walk there to see the castle and Wishes.

We stayed in Room 3916 in Dec. Here's a link to my review:

We had a view of TTC and lagoon from the room. From balcony, we could see Space Mountain and Contemporary. If you want to see the lagoon, try to be that side of the building (looking at Tikiman's map of the building). The door to the building was right there and we could walk down the stairs right to the beach. Not too much traffic at our building (off time of the year too), but we had noisy neighbors.

We faxed in our request but didn't get it. We didn't like our first room so we asked to switch, and that's how we got our room.
