Staying in a 1BR Boardwalk view in Oct/Nov for F & W Fest with my teen kids. Any good recommendations for a room request? We usually enjoy top floor and will spend some mornings and evenings out on the balcony.

I would request high floor and close to elevator. You're paying for BW view already so little mystery there. There is only one elevator so if you request close you may have a room closer to that end.

None of the boardwalk view rooms are actually close to an elevator. There are four (1 on each of four floors) dedicated 1BR boardwalk views at the end of the first long hall section from the elevator but those are right near the corner where the building goes from being Village Green view to boardwalk view and those are actually on the village green side and have more of a village green view than boardwalk view. For best view for 1BR you want to be far away from the elevators not anywhere near them. You might request high floor in Crest of Waves section.

The rooms overlooking the village green are our favorite. You have a little bit of the boardwalk, the green and the lagoon.

I don't think there are any 1 bedrooms overlooking the village green - just studios.

Dursba, Can you request a village green view for a 1 bedroom Boardwalk view reservation? I like that area but didn't think those were classified as Boardwalk view, I thought they were pool view/village green. (I know they are the same points but I am talking about booking classification - then request)

The one on the end is, I had it once - 5051. The only thing good about it is it was close to the elevator. It only had one small balcony off the living room. No balcony off the bedroom, windows instead. Very limited fireworks view. It was the first time I had boardwalk view and was disappointed.

If I do want to request that area with a BW view reservation can I do that? (and if I don't get it I would be placed further down on the BW?)
I want to make sure if I make this request they would not reclassify my reservation as a preferred/pool view (and if I didn't get it I would end up with a pool view versus the BW.)

You can request anything within reason. A close to elevator request for a 1BR boardwalk view may be enough to target one of those. You might attempt asking for 1BR above Wyland Gallaries or even asking for specific room numbers.

They would not reclassify your room. I would just request close to elevator. The room #'s if you want to go that way are 2051, 3051, 4051, 5051. I think 2051 has a very large balcony.

Those Boardwalk view 1BR's are definitely there. 1 thing I wasn't completely pleased about is it's not a direct view to the boardwalk but the worse thing IMO is they (at least the high floors) only have one small balcony. And then you're taunted when you look down and see some of the huge balconies that the studios have. But everyone has different likes and dislikes. :thumbsup2
