Room request @ BC - help!!!

We're in POP for 7 nights then BC for 4 mid-Aug. Been to POP before so I know where I want to be but never been to BC - very excited and DD(13) can't wait to get into SAB! (We walked the outskirts when we went to Cape May).

I've booked a standard room at BC and thinking we might like a first floor with patio as I do like to sit out of an evening with a gin & tonic! Is this a good choice or would I be better on an upper floor and take my chances on getting a request for a full balcony?

If you look at the resort map on allears you can see that the BC is very, very long and some of the first floor rooms can be a very very very long way from the lobby and the main pool. We had a very nice first floor room with a very nice patio at the very end of the resort close to Epcot, but for us it was too far from the pool and the lobby. So, I would prefer a high floor close to the elevators. I can't tell you if there are nice first floor rooms that are not too far from the pool, etc. Maybe someone else can help.
