I will be staying in a 1 BR at Kidani Village (direct through Disney, not a DVC member) and have figured out where the ideal location would be for us (and most people, I imagine): Sunset Savanna, near Rafiki elevator, lowest floor possible. What is the best way to put in that request? I have called in the past but I feel like there are multiple computer systems or things just disappear (I’ve called, put in a request, called at a later date and been told there was no request.), so I have no faith in that method. But if someone told me exactly what number/department to call, that could help. Lately, I’ve been using the room request feature on touringplans and have had reasonable success (probably 50%). For this stay, I feel like the more general request (Sunset Savanna, near Rafiki elevator, lower floor) is better than the wording with specific rooms, facing directions, etc. from touringplans, although they do give you the option of making general requests, so I could just pick a room that would work and then add the general criteria in order, the same way I would by calling. I seem to recall being able to put requests in order of importance when calling?
Our stay is a week away and I have to make the room request. What’s the best way to go about it at this point? I don’t know when these things happen in the system.
Also, how do I make sure I don’t overwrite my request at any point? I’m specifically thinking about during online check in, although I could just check in at the desk since we’ll be dropping off luggage in our car very late at night on our arrival day.
Thanks for the advice!
