Room Request at CBR?

We will be staying at CBR for the first time in January. It is me, DH, DS (3) and DD (2). Room location was not important enough to me to get a preferred location, but are there any other buildings I should request so we aren't too far from everything? I realize that the requests aren't guaranteed, but figure it might be worth a shot.

Have stayed in both Jamaica and Martinique and found that while both were nice, we preferred our location in Martinique for it's quick walk to the food court and buses.

For a standard location, many people prefer Jamaica and Aruba. There are some standard rooms in Martinique (buidlings 21, 22, and 23), but more often you'll read that people prefer Jamaica and Aruba for standard locations. The bridge provides quick access to the food court at Old Port Royale.

I am not sure when you are going but since the main pool will be closing Jamaica and Barbados will be more popular. They are installing slides at those pools.

We've stayed at the CBR two times. The first time, we were in Jamaica Bldg. 41. The second time, we were in Martinique. I think the building was 23 but I could be wrong. I really liked both of the locations.

I, personally, wouldn't pay the extra money for a preferred location. Walking doesn't bother us at all. The promenade around the entire lake is just 1.4 miles and Old Port Royale is in the middle so, even, if you're building were at the very farthest point, you aren't more than half that far way. (I hope that made sense.)

I would suggest that you request a room that faces a courtyard. We've gotten a courtyard view room each time and it didn't cost any extra.

Here are some of the pictures from our last CBR stay:

mickeystoontown, I always enjoy your photos! They make me wish I was there now!

I personally do think it's worth the extra for a preferred location. We refilled our mugs a lot and it was nice to be close to everything.

The first time we requested perferred - Martinque and got Bldg 25. The second time I requested that same specific bldg and got it. The first time we were on the lake - the second time a courtyard view. Either one was fine - I'd be happy with a parking lot view. We didn't look out the windows anyway.

I would however really not enjoy being further out than the preferred locations. JMHO

I stayed at CBR back in 2003. I requested a room near the buses and that's exactly what I got, and it was wonderful. The room was a standard, #4601. When I opened my door I could see the bus stop. I was amongst the first picked up on the way to the parks and first let off returning from the parks. It was great. I had a little walk to the main area but I was more interested in being closer to the bus stop. HTH. Have a great time!:thumbsup2 :cool1:

Jamaica and Aruba are great choices if you don't want to pay extra for a preferred room. Each is only a few minutes' walk from Old Port Royale and the main pool. And since every village has its own bus stop, you're never far from Disney transportation. We recently returned from two weeks at CBR in Jamaica and noted that Jamaica was virtually always the first pick up on the bus route, since practically all of the buses enter CBR through the access road just above Jamaica and not through the main entrance. So you're the first picked up and the first dropped off nearly every time (and Aruba would be second).

We just spent a night in building 51 in Aruba..It is the last building in that village and very far from the bus stop...We actually walked to Jamaica to get on their bus. Without a car I would never stay there again..After you get on the bus there are 7 stops WITHIN the resort! Way to much wasted time IMO.

Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 are buildings with a short walk to Old Port Royale. Even with the main pool closed, you will need to go there for the food court, gift shop, stop & grab and the marina (if you want to rent a boat).

As the pp stated Aruba 51 is far from the Aruba bus stop - get on and off in Jamaica if you stay in that building.
