Anyone ever stay at a resort undergoing room renovations. Was there any effect noise wise, staff wise, transportation wise? Just curious because CSR is slated in October and I am a little antsy on the effects it may have... although it is Disney and all.. part of me started to waver to my second choice this weekend and I think I just need a little reassurance to stick with my first choice.

I stayed once at the WL & they started working around 9am & stop at 5pm. We wasn't bother with noise as we were a bit further down the hallway. If you are worried I would switch if they were just begining. WL was at the end of it & it was mostly painting. Good luck

One of the nice things about refurbs at a resort with several building is that you can avoid the construction noise almost completely. Generally they will close off the entire building that they are refurbing.
We stayed at the GF while they were doing rehab, we stayed in Bocha Chica while they were working on Big Pine Key. We could see the tarps etc, but we never heard anything.
I actually stayed at the Allstar Resorts while they were making the family suites I was in the Jazz building where they were working. I never knew they were doing anything until the one afternoon I went back to my room for a nap and they decided to do some jack hammering on one of the lower floors. Boy did I notice that, and I was a bit upset. But until that one incident, I had not heard anything else.

We were at ASMo when they were rebuilding the Fantasia pool. We don't spend a lot of time at the resort (which is why we stay at values) but I don't remember hearing any noise in my room or at the food court. The area was fenced and the fence was covered with a tarp, so you couldn't see the workers or machinery inside. The only inconvenience was that the walkway in front of one of the Fantasia building was blocked, so we had a longer walk to get around the building.

We stayed at BWI once during rennovations. We were put on the side opposite of rennovations so noise wasn't an issue but there were tarps covering parts of the buildings. More of a cosmetic issue. During the day there were workers on the grounds and some painting going on. This was during February. I wouldn't say it was an issue, just took a slight edge off the atmosphere.
