Room recommendations for standard room?

Hi all,

I've seen a lot of posts about room requests for DVC, Oceanview, etc. Unfortunately, we didn't get to book one of those and just have a standard room. We're going for our 15th wedding anniversary and while I realize a standard room is just that, I'd still like to see if I can make it special. Is there any recommendations for requests I can present to Aulani a few days before our departure? (Like certain floor, or even floors to avoid, etc etc.) It's our first time so any help is appreciated!

Can you provide more details? By “standard room”, I’m assuming you mean Standard View room - but what category of room? (Studio, Hotel, 1 br, etc).

If you’re doing a standard view studio room, you’re pretty limited - only the two highest floors (6,7) have anything resembling a view outside the window.

I am interpreting the OP's question is for a standard hotel room, not DVC. We will be going for the first time in April, so I am not able to provide any details. I am interested though to see what others have to say because we will also be in one of the hotel rooms.

Yup, this is exactly right! Like should I request near the lobby (the only option available by the app), or avoid it because of noise? Perhaps higher up is better? Etc etc. Hopefully someone can share!

Ah! Yup, sorry, didn’t read the post carefully - thought you couldn’t get an ocean view.

Sorry, can’t help much here. I do know lots of people have commented about the length of the corridors, so “away from the elevators” might mean away from the elevators!

No worries, I appreciate the input! And thank you! We didn't do anything big for the 5th one... or the 10th... we didn't even have a big to-do for the wedding, just a courthouse one, so this is our wedding/all major milestones trip all rolled into one.
