Can someone explain to me the difference/benefits/drawbacks between room rates, rack rates, AP's? I am SO confused by all this!

Thanks!

Rack rate is the full price for a hotel room - WDW or anywhere else. This is the most that is paid for the room.

Room rate is a general term for any dollar amount that you pay for a hotel room.

AP rate is the rate that wDW Annual Passholders (AP) can pay for a room. It is discounted.

WDW has other discounted rates, besides AP. Some are widely advertised to the public, and some are offered only to particular individuals.

Discounted rates are usually described as "x percent off the rack rate".
