how exactly would i go about requesting a room at CSR? i saw another post with a link to fax them but it didnt work when i clicked on it.

also, (if anyone can make a prediction) what section of rooms would someone most commonly be placed in with no requests or anything made? or like which section has the most # of rooms? casitas, ranchos or cabanas?

sorry if that didnt make much sense, it does in my head lmao but im not sure how to put it into words :confused3

You should make your requests when you place your reservation. Some guests still fax and some will tell you it is no longer accepted. No one has a guaranteed answer on that.

The casita section has the most rooms followed by the ranchos then cabanas last with the fewest rooms.

casitas - 1,024 rooms (981 guest rooms, 43 suites)
ranchos - 624 guest rooms
cabanas - 319 guest rooms

I made requests just by calling last year. My main concern was being near the food court and buses. We were in Cassitas 1 which was perfect for us. :flower:

Well good luck. When I made our initial reservation I had requested the Cabanas section. A few days before arrival I phoned CSR to remind them of the request. So when we checked in we were given a Ranchos room! I told them I had requested Cabanas and they said no problem and gave us a room there. Now I wish I had kept the Ranchos, even though it was a lot farther away, because our Cabanas building was full of conventioneers, which definitely took away from what little atmosphere that bland area had.

We are staying here our first 3 nights, starting with Thanksgiving night. Then we switch over to SPorts. I was going to see if I could just stay at CSR the whole time...

Should I do that?

I was thinking of requesting the cabanas.. but you say its 'bland'. With 3 kids in tow, I was thinking that would be the best place. Since youve been there dixiedizfan, where do you, or any of you, recommend to stay? Id like to be close to the pepper mill and the bus stop. I was thinking section 9 of the cabanas...

Hi, I am staying at CSR from Nov20-28. I think it seems like a great place for kids. Pool, playground etc.If you want to stay there the whole time you better contact them soon I heard there were only suites left due to a convention. My understanding was that Casistas was where they put most of the convention folks. I requested to stay in Cabanas 8b. This was recommended by Buzz who has an awesome thread if you haven't checked it out yet. He has pictures of everything and it doesn't look a bit bland to me. I guess it's just what you like personally. I can't wait to stay there. Good Luck!

There's a Cabanas 9 building that's close to the main building, can't remember if it's A or B, but that would be the closest to the Pepper Market. The Casitas section is right next to the main building, and has much prettier theming. Everyone says that's where they put all the conventioneers, but when we were there they were also staying all throughout the Cabanas 8A and B area, as well as some out in the Ranchos.

I can NOT get Buzz's site to open. Ive been trying for weeks. Im so mad!! It just gives me one of those "page can't be displayed" messages. GRRR

I hear about his site all the time, and I still cant figure out why it wont work for me!!!

We were at CSR from October 1st through the 8th. We requested the cabana section and arrived at 9AM, and said we did not need our room until after 4PM, but just wanted to reserve it.

THey had nothing left in the cabanana section and we were placed in the casitas.

Conventioneers can be place all over the resort if the casitas are full. Cabana 8a is closest to the Dig Site and bus stop #4 while cabana 9b is closest to the main building and bus stop #1.

As far as the cabanas being bland, its all in the guest. To each their own. I wouldn't change your request based on one comment.

Front shot of cabana 8a. You can see the bus stop in the distance to see how close it is. Cabana 8b on the right.

Maybe your security settings are set too high or you need to update your IE to a higher version. Not sure what the issue is. You are the only person I heard this from.

I will try looking at the security, and I will also look into updating IE. I know Im the only one who cant to your site. Everyone I talk to tells me to go there. Im soo disappointed that I cant. I will keep trying!

Maybe you could try it from a friend/relatives house
