This may be a weird question but with all of these changes in the Magic Your Way tickets and packages I was wondering something.
We are going to be going in April. We are booked at the YC (room only)and I was really REALLY hoping for a code. (right now we have a AAA rate)
If we don't get one or if it is very low I was thinking that it may be worth it to go with a package and get the dining add on. My question is, Can I switch to a package a month or so before we go? Or when I find out that we won't be getting a discount. Will they let you do that?

That's exactly what I'd like to know too! We have AAA rate at WL and already have PH's, and I'm stressing about whether or not to try to change to a package just to get the dining (well, that and to have a few extra days left over for another trip). I really want a code (July) and if we were that lucky, I'm sure the savings would be much better than what we could get w/the package.

You should be able to rebook to a package if need be. From what I've read, to change to a package from room only, the room only is cancelled and a new reservation is made for the package. Also, check the cancellation/change policy on your existing reservation. Depending on how it was booked there may be a charge for making changes on short notice.

I talked to CRO a couple of days ago about our March stay at the Contemporary. I was told in no uncertain terms, that I would have to pay rack rate if I rebooked using the MYW package. I was interested in the dining option, but my original rate was on the BDP code. The CM sounded like she knew what she was talking about and even said it probably wasn't a good idea for me since I had such a good rate at a deluxe. I think the MYW package with dining is great if you're staying at a value or maybe even a mod. The good news is you can still buy the MYW park tickets even if you're not doing the package.

Mrs J Henry--When in April are you going? The BDP code was good through April 16. I don't know if a new code will come out for the end of April.

Don't forget when dealing with the CRO. If you don't get the answer you like, hang up, dial again and ask another agent.... there is a good chance you will get a different answer. :wizard:

Swilphil,

That cast member was correct if you book a package it will be at rack.

EVerything I've read about MYW packages states that if you have a discounted room only ressie currently booked, if you want to change it into a MYW package, you will lose your discount. You'll have to pay rack rates for those packages, unless there is a discount associated with the packages, which at this time I don't think will happen soon.

Thanks . We are going April 23-30. AAA told me there may be a package discount through them. But I don't know until after Jan 2.
If there isn't , even the AAA discount will be better than what i would get with a rack rate package. I wasn't thinking about that part of it. Thanks all.

I am soooo confused. Right now I am wondering if I should renew my ap. Although we only go to disney once a year, I have been able to get great discounts on the polynesian concierage garden view. However, I am wondering if the ap discounts are worth it this year for the deluxes. Paying rack rates would be a huge jump in price for me. One year I paid $240 at the poly concierage garden view in March. Then last year it in the mid $300's a night for the same room. But still much cheaper than rack rates. We also use the concierage to eat quite a lot. Anybody have any ideas out there, they would be welcomed. Also, if anyone got any rates for a deluxe concierage with the new discount, please let me know. Thanks, Carolyn
