ROOM ONLY Prices On site, really need to know!!!

Hi sorry to start yet another thread on room only costs...

But I'm trying to work out figures for next year, it will only be my husband and I going, we do not want to stay outside of the park as we will have APs so may as well use the discount (i.e we only want to use a Disney hotel like the sequoia, cheyenne or santa fe, would consider Davey Crockett as i believe this is meant to be good and cheaper still)

I would like to know from anyone else who goes out there with the APs and how much you pay per night per room, or how much that is per person after your AP discount? am i looking at the possibility of £25 a night EACH for bed and breakfast or am i looking more £55 EACH a night??? (I want the cheapest n site option understandably!!)

Could you please tell me what time of year you went, how much it cost for the room only and what discount you got...

e.g. we went in march, we stayed at the Seqouia and we paid £53 for the room as we got 20% discount.

It would be so helpful if i could get real prices off people who do this, as i can't find this info out anywhere, so far i haven't had the time to call disney direct (plus i've been told they don't like you booking just rooms and give you premium rates so it's almost not worth buying AP's...) and Expedia won't give you prices as it's saying no rooms are ever available... so I can't even check prices for any date.

Some of you must have done this?? and we will be driving there so those costs are sussed it's just a matter of room prices so i can get saving!!!

Pleeeease help and give me your experienced examples!

I recently booked room only (2 'adults') via Disney Direct for Easter 2008, I have to say it was considerably more than £53 a night, in fact it was about £423 for 3 nights! This included a discount as when I had previously enquired I was quoted £508 without any discounts. I think I was quoted £284 for the Sante Fe, but we decided to push the boat out this time

Since the cost would be about £700 if we were booking a package with passes I felt it was a good price!

I always wonder if when you buy the room and tickets as a whole package are you actually getting the ticktes cheaper than normal that way or the room? I heard somewhere if you book room only they charge you a premium rate which sounds a bit unfair if you have an AP

I really don't want to stay off site when we go next year but at the minute i really doesn't seem very affordable!!!!

Can anyone else tell me pices???

Was hoping the santa fe or cheyenne would work out about £25 each

If we were to stay 1 night at the Disneyland Hotel i think it would be the only trip we could afford all year still cannot get over the price of it!

These are the reasons why we no longer stay on site. It's not that it's too expensive, it's just it doesn't seem worth the money. We have had 8 APs over the years, and £25 each would not even get you in the Santa Fe years ago when DLP was quiet. The hotels are even more now.

Realistically you are looking at either upping your budget to £100 per night, or staying off site. You can get a fab room at the Holiday Inn for about £68 a night, or there's an etap that has just opened near the Val De Europe for about £35 a night. Or for luxury, for £125 a night, there is a two bedroom, 3 bath, full kitchen, and 3 Tv with DVD house at Marriott.

So since the Holiday Inn is almost as good as the New York. And the Marriott is better than the Davy Crockett and DLH put together. We stay off site and use the money we save for great table service restaurants in the resort. Or we stay for 2 weeks for what 5 days used to cost us.


And Expedia does not have the availability because DLP has been selling out this year. It is running at 92% occupancy (most hotels run at 60%). So they can command the higher prices.

It just seems crazy that if you take the total of a 3 night 4 day stay somewhere like the santa fenad minus off the cost of a hopper pass, what you pay for hotel nd breakfast is pretty damned good but if your not booking a package it is a silly cost!! (especially when you think places like the cheyenne are a two star!)

i know if we stay off site we can do it very cheap and afford those extra trips there-i just love staying in the middle of it all!!!

ah well like you say you can use the extra cash for more treats which seems a great idea!

Any more examples of costs appreciated!

I'm in the process of doing the sums with AP's, similar to yourselves. The Holiday Inn site is great, and is showing prices up to about a year in advance, with prices from 80euros per room (and thats for a room suitable for a family).

Its encouraging that you yourself got the Sequoia Lodge for such a good price with discount, and that the Santa Fe can also be booked using AP's for a discount, if you prefer to be onsite.

I showed my DD the Holiday Inn photos, and she's desperate to stay there next trip (I think the swimming pool, childrens play areas and curtained-off bed area in the room swung it for her).
