Room Only Payment

When I arrive at my resort will I be allowed to pay for my room with multiple Disney gift cards? I have a $500 and three $100 cards. I will need to buy tickets also and have additional gift cards for that purpose. I hope I can use multiple cards for the tickets. I was waiting until after Christmas because I knew I would be receiving some gift cards. We leave on January 25th. Getting very excited!

I have been able to use gift cards at check in for previous trips, even our trip last February. There are others that report their card on file being charged prior to them actually arriving at the resort, if you've done online check-in. We did online check-in, had a card on file, but was still able to pay with a gift card on arrival. You can go in the Disney gift card website and combine all your money on one card, if that would be easier (I believe the max per card is $1000). If you are able, you may consider buying your tickets online before you go, so that you can book fast passes. Have a great trip!

Do you have a credit card on file? Because if you do there is a chance that the remaining balance of your room only reservation will be charged to your card before you even arrive. You may be able to reverse the charges and pay off via gift cards, but if you don't want to risk it, give a call into Disney and pay off the reservation using your gift cards ahead of time.

I would also echo the suggestion of purchasing the tickets ahead of time. Not only will you be able to book your fastpasses ahead of time, but if you purchase them through a reputable reseller such undercovertourist.com you may be able to save some money versus gate prices.

If you filled out online check in, disney is going to charge your credit card on file (if you added one) before you even get there to pay with another method.

You can make payments and buy tickets online using gift cards, you don't have to wait. Although I remember my last room only reservation in feb 2016 and a make payment option for the room didn't appear so you may need to call for the room.

I also recommend you get your tickets now, first tickets generally get more expensive jan or feb so you want the better price. Also having more time to find and book fastpasses while lining up your adrs to match what park you'll be in is a huge time saver and in some cases you are not going to be able to do that after you arrive, some fastpasses and dining locations are too popular to get last minute/day of.

In case you don't know, the disney gift card website you can transfer your balances between cards so if you are not getting them paid off now because the amounts are too small, just go on the website and put in the cards (which also helps you out if you loose any of them) and make one of them the amount you need to finish the transaction.

This is what happened to me. I wanted to pay with gift cards, but was told since I had done online check-in and had a credit card on file, they had charged my card first thing in the morning.

I suggest you call the day before and pay with the gift cards just to be sure!
