Room Only Part Stay - FD Part Stay - Extend Tickets - Pick Up Early - Questions

I have booked FD during a window that was available.

Oct. 31-Nov. 7 at ASMu.

My mother is arriving early. FD is not available before.

I have booked 6 day PH passes.

My mother now indicates that she would like to consider going to the parks early.

I know that she can, notwithstanding what CM's say on the phone, pick up tickets early.

My question is can I change the pass length to 9 - which goes beyond the actual ASMu length of stay.

If so, I know you can pick up the tickets 3 days early at guest services (so could pick them up Oct. 28 if I have it right.

Now, she also wants to stay at Port Orleans FQ for the extra nights.

How is the best way to do this.

Add the extra days on the FD booking and keep the POFQ booking entirely separate.

On the 28th, show up with the FD confirmation and ask for the passes early?

Book her a separate reservation (room only) at POFQ.

You CAN change your package tickets to be longer than your package stay. Unfortunately you can't change it for just your mother. If you change your package tickets to 9 days to accommodate your mother arriving early, you have to change them for everybody else on the package as well. Everybody on the package has to have the same length ticket. You'd have to decide if it's inexpensive enough for the rest of you to eat those extra days.

The only thing I can think of is...can your mother pick up her 6 day ticket early, and then once she has it, upgrade it to 9 days? it would be entirely on her to do that though, if she is by herself, and if the reference to her being a senior means that you don't want to give her anything complicated to do herself, it may not be what you want to have her do.

I'm not clear on whether it will be everyone who is present on the 28th or just her. If you will all be there then it won't matter about the ticket.

You do have to keep in mind that if you book a room only reservation prior to a package, and your intent is to pick up the package tickets early to use during the time you are on the room-only reservation, you (or your mother if it's just her) will be unable to make any reservations for Fastpass Plus for the days prior to the package reservation until after the tickets are picked up at Guest Services.

When she picks up her tickets early, I am guessing that she should not say she is already staying at another resort so they don't mix them.

My mom's FD reservation is for her own room (unfortunately, my father is not around anymore to join us...). So it I will upgrade her room to 9 days of passes....and I have read to perhaps consider adding my dad's name to the room only reservation to get two more MB...I have not used MB ever so what use that is, I am not sure but I will read up on how to use these things.

She won't be fussed about no fast passes until day of.

My inlaws on another (arrive same time as us) and ours...so three separate ones.

I don't know, I've never picked up a ticket early and I never buy packages. I don't think it matters where she is staying. She should just go to Guest Services (it HAS to be Guest Services at a park or DTD - they won't do this at the resort) and ask for the package tickets.

If you put your father's name on the room only and on MDX to get a magic band, that band will be assigned to him and nobody else can use it (it can't be removed or transferred on the account). Since I take it that he is deceased, I think you wouldn't get anything out of that besides a useless rubber bracelet.

As PP indicated, this can only be done at Guest Relations at a major theme park or DTD, not at the resort.

Agree with PP, I don't see any value in getting extra MBs in your father's name, unless you are just trying to collect a different color; it will have no use for FP+ without a ticket.
