Room only/Package/Discount question

I have always initially booked as a package. I read something that made me think I should book a room only for now, but I don't remember why. So I have a room only for POR in June. I want a package with tickets (not sure on 6 day or 7 day yet though). Read something else now that says if you want to make your room only a package, you have to cancel the room only first.

The other thing I'm questioning on the wisdom of having this room only is that June discounts may come out this week. If they come out tomorrow, and I'm not snowed in, I'll be at work and won't want to call...online will be better. If I didn't have anything booked, I could just book the discounted package online, without calling, right?

Can I cancel my room only online or do I have to call?

Will it do anything to my BOG reservation (booked at 180+)?

Yes.

You can cancel the room-only online.

Will it do anything to my BOG reservation (booked at 180+)?

Nope.

The one thing I will note is that your deposit on the RO reservation will be refunded, not applied to the package deposit. You will pay the package despite at the time of booking. So there will be that.

Thanks I just found the place to cancel online. I think I will do that and rebook when discounts come out to avoid calling. Refunding the deposit is fine.
