Room only discounts?

Hello all,
Like many of you I am patiently waiting for the AP codes to come out for my trip in December. I have also seen many of you mention 'room only' discounts. Typically, how deep do these room only discounts run? If we can't get AP codes than potentially these will be the other option. Any comments suggestions would be appreciated.

The room only rates are usually a little higher than AP discounts. It's unknown if they will offer them again. With the FTP available, they did not offer room only rates for 7/4 to 8/23. They have some Visa discounted packages for 8/23 to 10/1. I have the feeling that they will be pushing the packages rather than room only rates. Just my guess.
