room only discounts

Does Universal ever release room only discounts and not discounts as a package? We are looking at August 2020 and will purchase military tickets (cant do the military room rate because we have one room at that rate already).. Just curious if I need to be on the lookout

I book all my hotel reservations for room only and with any special discount I can find for my dates

I don't think they do really in the same way Disney does. They typically have the "Seasonal Rate" which is their regular rate and the "Stay More Save More Rate" which can save you 10-30% (depending on the time of year, length of your stay and hotel choice) for stays greater than 3 nights. They also have the "Annual Passholder Rate" for passholders.
