Room only discounts become available during stay

I'm wondering if a discount for room only can be applied to nights during a booked stay or if I have to rebook for the discounted days? For example if I am booked for June 1-10 and a room only discounts becomes available for June 7-30, would I be able to apply the discount to my reservation or do I have to change my reservation to June 1-6 and June 7-10 to receive the discount? Thanks!

You would have to do 2 separate reservations in order to take advantage of the discount for whichever days it applies.

Thanks for the info. That is a bummer because then there is the risk they could make me change rooms.
