Room only discount code club

OK - my hopes are pretty much dead in the water here.

I have a new theory as to what they are going to do. Because they don't want a bunch of package people taking the codes, they are going to hold Oct-Dec discounts to the last possible minute, possibly even beyond that. By waiting until early October, most everyone with packages through Thanksgiving will have paid them. It'll be more about getting the last minute traveler.

For us, it doesn't really affect our trip since we are under free dining for most of the stay - I will pay full rack for the 3 nights if I have to...but I am not very pleased about it since it is the first time in about 70 nights of staying on site I've paid full rack without having free dining.

I totally agree and have the same approach here. We're staying value so those 2 nights won't be a deal breaker. And we can add the discount up to 5 days out I think. So they won't outwait me..............

Look at what they have achieved this year...how many of us booked with rack rate, thinking we would get the GP discount that has routinely come out for the last few years, only to say now how disappointed we are that there is still no discount but that we are going anyway...there sure aren't many rooms available for when we are going and our 45 day payment date is this week. Will be interesting what happens with availability by the time this week is over since it jives with Jersey week!

Still waiting and hoping. I'm not sure how I got dropped off the "Pin code" list, last year I received 3 at 3 different email addresses.

Yup, 6 years of trips and no discount but AAA this time. This might be the end...

Same here. Much as I love POFQ, offsite might be the better option next time.

I dont know if it matters or not, but when I called I didn't ask for the PIN. I said I was just calling for some pricing for my dates, and when she looked she just mentioned that I did have a PIN that she could apply. Just a thought...

I still think there will be a discount. Maybe Monday. But maybe into October. October is looking pretty full though Nov and Dec still have availability.

I'm actually about to blink. Not because I got tired of waiting but because the Dolphin price dropped twice this week. First rack dropped. Then S/D showed up as. Starpick this week. Great rates but it's a non-refundable rate, book by Friday.

YC is great but Dolphin will be $400 less (and that factors in cab fare). I could do a lot with $400. Like paying for the MNSSHP and the costumes we already bought. And I'm not even sure there's availability at YC anyway. Site has been screwy this week.

So we have a family meeting tonight, but I think we're done waiting.

Just a thought why not book the swan(rate that's not the non refundable one) so in case a RO discount comes out, you can then decide later on if it is worth changing over to or keeping the swan as planned.

That's what i've been doing. I've had the Dolphin rack rate booked for weeks. And this week I updated it when those rates dropped. But the book-by-Friday rate is even lower -- almost $200 lower.

I just checked Disney's site -- DSis figured out why it's showing wierd results. It's because there is availability for my dates, but there is no resort/room at a single Epcot resorts for all 4 days. So we would need to do a split stay between YC/BC. And I already know that there's no AP discount availability at BC, so the odds of my getting a discount for every night (if any) are nil.

So there just isn't really any reason to keep waiting. I'm going to book tomorrow.

We are waiting for a room only discount too, been years since we booked in the off season without one and might stay off property because of it. I keep thinking if I have to pay almost the same amount in January as end of feb/march why not go later in the season when the weather is nicer.
I feel one reason to give a good Room Only discount during January especially is the weather can be iffy. The discount helps make up for not as nice weather.
oh well, add my name to the list of people hoping for a GP room only discount.
