Room only discount code club

On Facebook Mousesavers just posted room only discounts for fall dates for DisneyLAND. So frustrated for my friend desperately awaiting a code.

We have a reservation booked with the AP rate (will upgrade to an AP to get it, so it's not a HUGE savings) and it's a savannah view. I also had a club level reservation booked, and was hoping a RO discount would come out that I could apply to that, but I am thinking I should just cancel this reservation. Let's say the RO DOES come out - would there be a benefit to me having the club level reservation, or would my chances of getting that room at the discount be the same regardless of whether I already have the reservation or not?

Was AP discount available on CL room? If not I wouldn't expect a RO discount to be available. AKL CL rooms can be difficult to book with a discount. I've stayed in CL room there twice and did have get discounts but booked months out. With Disney waiting so long to release RO rates I would say the chances get slimmer for RO on CL room.

AK may have a ton of club level rooms available - we just canceled ours for 10/12-10/17 last night. We're headed in Oct and decided it wasn't worth the full price - we changed to POFQ (which we've never stayed but saved $1300!) knew there was a chance of no discount, but didn't really think there wouldn't be ANY discount for our dates.

Sorry if this info has already been requested/answered but I can't read this entire thread.....tons of homework here! LOL! Have there been any August 2012 RO discounts released? Would love to go the first 2 weeks in August, only time we can all make it. Any and all help os greatly appreciated! TIA!

Yup, I agree that we probably won't get a discount at this stage! But what I'm wondering is if it helps your chances at all to already have a reservation that you apply the discount to, or if that doesn't matter? In the slighttt chance it did become available - because we ALL cancel due to this lack of discounts! :rotfl:

It does not help your chances a single bit. If the type of room is not offered in the discount, it can not be applied. I had to downgrade my room choice by one level to get a recent discount applied and I now wish I hadn't done it. Oh well, I will love being at Disney no matter where I am staying!

In fact, having a CL reservation may actually hurt your chances of applying a discount. If the reservation rate for a particular room category is too high, any discount won't apply. Remember the discount is given to fill rooms. If a room is already filled, why would they discount it?

Well said!

Time is running out for this promotion to be offered. I think 9-22 is the latest it has been offered. Seems like rumors for most discounts start floating around about a week before the offer comes out. If we don't hear rumors in the next couple of days, it is looking bleak for the fall season.

I finally gave up on waiting for a room only discount or code and booked the Swan. I actually got a really good deal and am excited to be within walking distance of Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

From what I recall discounts that come out in Aug/Sept. are usually good through December too. (We're 12 weeks out for our trip but I gave up on RO discounts awhile ago and booked a Free Dinning Package. At least we can save money somewhere! (Although I would have preferred a RO discount...)

I'm just thinking that if RO discounts do come out later on, availability may be dim for certain dates and resorts (and room types). I think other posters mentioned this. So I'm just sticking with what we have....I'm just happy that we get to go! :upsidedow

Travelocity has a great deal for my dates but it's non-refundable. Trying to decide if I should wait another week or not. :surfweb:

In 2008 it was 9/25 so there's still time.

Haven't decided yet if i'm going to wait another week. I would much rather have the Swan at a (nonrefundable) discount than the Dolphin at Rack (which is what I have booked now). But i'd much rather have YC than both of them. I do feel a lot less pressure since I booked Dolphin though. At least I know I have something in my price range on the boardwalk.

Whoops my memory failed me by a couple of days. In any event, if there isn't some rumor by Monday, I don't think it is coming any time soon, if at all. I've not read anything about upcoming discounts on the 4 disney boards I follow.

I agree. The 25th is a Sunday, anyway, so that doesn't seem particularly likely. Possible but not likely.

We decided to wait until Monday. Though I know what will happen, we'll get to Monday and say, well, we might as well wait until Tuesday ... :lmao:

You might as well wait as long as possible.
