Interesting that the link shows the same dates as the targeted PIN that I got.

I am confident we will see a discount go GP. I've been doing this since 2006, and there is ALWAYS a room only discount for the fall/winter...and that was way before the economy tanked.

I'd take 25% off my 2 nights of room only. Are you sticking with a split stay and taking a chance on early ticket pick-up? Or are you bailing?

I don't always rely on Disney magic, so I have a back-up plan. I have a good friend who's mom works for a company that's partnered with Disney, and she has a (limited) supply of day passes that she gives to employees and for herself. I can't get enough to cover the whole trip, but I asked if he could get me 8 day passes, and his mom was able to come through (they aren't going this year - so don't need any themselves). If I can pick up the tickets early I will and return the passes to them(99% sure this'll happen). If the odds go against me, I have the passes to use the first two days.

So, right now I just want the 25 % room for the first three nights. It comes to around $160, but every bit counts. Here's hoping this new link turns out to be the real deal.

Well, that sounds like a great backup plan....... far better than my "wing it" plan! Actually I have a couple ideas. I just don't like them. But a discount would be a nice start.

Hoping for a room only code also. We are arriving on Thursday 11/10 and have a three night room only. We then have our free dining package starting on Sunday 11/13. I jsut read that the free dining dates have changed and I can actually change my package to start on saturday 11/12 instead.
Is anyone else doing this? That would leave me with a two night room only and a seven night package with free dining. I am planning on picking my tickets up on Friday - one day early.

I did change my package when they changed the dates. I'm going in October, but it worked better just to change that one night. So, we have two nights of room only and seven nights of the free dining package. I'm also now past my 45 day mark, so it's really not worth it to me to even use a rate code if one comes out.....my penalty will eat it all up.

You could use the discount on your two nights of room only without penalty, unless you're within 5 days of check-in; 45 days applies only to your package reservation. With any luck, that'd save you a couple of bucks!

We are almost to our 45 day mark on a room only discount but we have added ticket and dining so I am trying to make changes without penalty! If I call and take off the dining plan and tickets, can I call and add those closer to our honeymoon with no penalty?

Technically, my room is a package. Because I have the vacation insurance on it. So, my time has passed. *sigh* It's all good, though....I'M GOING TO DISNEY!!!!

Well, I finally took the Canadian discount of 30% after talking to the CM today.

When I asked about the GP RO discount, he said the CM's are also wondering what is going on. He told me that for the last couple of years the CM's were suppose to tell callers that these deep discounts were going to end but they were always surprised after being told to say this because new discounts kept coming out. Now the CM's are wondering if the time has finally arrived. He doesn't know when or if they are coming in the near future and told me no overtime has even been discussed. I know the CM's know little more than we do, but I've never had this story before so it got me thinking....

Consequently, I did take the 30% discount because I know I can always grab the GP if it ever does come out but at least for now I did get one

I don't think it is coming. CMs have heard nothing and no overtime. Sounds like they tried just codes this year. The only time I ever got a code was after we paid for our first trip.

I'm starting to feel the same. The fact that CMs haven't heard and no OT doesn't mean anything...it's not the same as the free dining hordes, but date is getting so late by now. They definitely could still put out something late in September, but I also picture if it doesn't come this week, it won't.

I'm waiting on a GP or PIN code for January 2012, but I'm losing hope. The Free Dining promo starts after my check-in date, and I'm worried any room-only promo would have the same issue. I hope something comes through!
