Hello, It's been a while since I posted and apparently lots has changed! If you don't mind, please bear with me and answer a few questions as I try to decipher what everyone is saying...
First, what does ARD, GP and ADR mean? Does FD mean
Free Dining?
ARD = Advance Dining Reservation, GP = General Public, FD = Free Dining
How do you get a PIN attached to your name and how do you know about it? Do you just call Disney and ask "Do I have a discount pin?"
You can call and ask if you have a PIN and if you're not in their system, they'll add you then so you'll be more likely to get one. Rumors have it that you can also sign up on the website, create and save vacations, order customized maps, and order the vacation planning DVDs to up your chances!
If a room only discount is what you need to book a room, isn't it more likely to appear with fewer rooms booked? So, and I'm just wondering, what is the point of booking a regular price room before the discounts are available? Right now, I am waiting to see if there is a discount to see if the trip is possible. Should I have a regular price room booked? I'm confused.
You can do either. You can book now at rack (regular) rate and call back to add a discount or PIN or you can wait to book until there's a GP (general public) discount.
What are the chances of discounts during Christmas week (not for me, but my sister and family are going during the holidays).
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but considering Christmas-New Years is the busiest time of year for the parks I wouldn't expect there will be a discount.
I am planning either late October or early November or early December, depending on prices. I wish that I knew more so that I could book airfare and start to plan.
Thanks for your help.
