Room only discount and dining plan?

If I book a room only reservation, can I get the dining plan? Right now I have the free dining package booked for September, staying at POR, but I'm wondering if I can get a better deal by using an AP discount, staying at POP, and paying for the dining plan OOP. I'm just not sure how to get the dining plan with a room discount -- can I do it?

no. dining plan requires either a DVC stay or a package.

As of a few days ago, I was booked for free dining at the WL...changed room type one too many times...lol..ended up in CL Honeymoon suite. When I realized I wasnt happy with the price tag, I called CRO...changed my reservation to one of the new codes, courtyard view, hoppers, and "paying" for dining. I have all the components if you will when I originally booked free dining in this room type, just with base tickets a few mths ago...its actually a bit cheaper now
So I was able to book dining with the code...although its not "free" as advertised...its just a matter of playing with the #'s....and where the disount is
I still have a "package"....dining cannot be booked unless with a package or a DVC stay...forgot that!

The Magic Your Way package with dining requires a Rack Rate room and at least a one day base ticket per person, per night.
I do not believe you can do it with a room only reservation with a discount and then add on the dining.
The trade off is the rack rate room and the ability to add the dining plan.

This is only true (rack rate room) if you are getting the "free dining". Currently you can use the ZJV (online) ZJZ (call-in) codes to get a discount on a Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining.

I've booked a room with the discount code from a post card mailer..and then added the dining at the additional $40.00 a night, per person. However to add dining you also have to add the park passes...which wasn't an issue since we needed them also. Did this for our May trip.
