No, if you book through a TA, the TA "owns" the reservation until you check in. Disney will not talk to you about the ressie or let you make any changes to it.
The only way to get the DDP with a room-only reservation is to have an AP, and maybe DVC?
I thought Disney offered the DDP, not the TA? Your TA should be able to book the DDP for you; however, I believe you must purchase at least a 1-day park pass for each member in your party in order to book the DDP. That is, unless you are AP holders or DVC as they have other requirements.
If you aren't AP holders or DVC and your TA won't book the DDP for you, I would find another TA.
It's not that my TA can't book me the dining package -- it's just that they have a deal for room only during that time and for some reason cannot offer the deal in combination with the DDP. I don't know all the details, but plan to find out on Monday. I appreciate the help though. Thank you!
They are not booking through WDTC.
Purely guessing, but could be they bought a block of rooms. Hence the deal. But they cannot turn your room only into a WDTC package as WDTC does not offer the same "deal".
It would be the same as buying a room only res through Expedia or a convention group. They offer room only res' since they are not buying a block of rooms through WDTC.
