Hi!
I am thinking about booking my WL room as "room only", not a MYW package, in hopes that a Room Only discount may pop up. If no room only discounts come out for our December trip, can I just change that room only reservation to a MYW package at check-in with the park tix and dining plan? Hope this question makes sense. Thanks!

Since you can only have one discount, with our pin code we opted for the room only one. dining plan does not interest us. We share meals, leaving room for more snacks and desserts, we do not like being run by the clock with ADR's. We stay 10-12 nights, which leaves plenty of time to do everything imaginable in the world. Our pin gave us 40%off room, great for WL, we can stay longer, and we do do what we really enjoy in dining. No need for free dining plan, we have a few favorites, some seating and alot counter, and a bunch of picnics at the pool. to each his or her own but for the best money saving deal, it was room only pin code no package or tixs. Just run the numbers and do the math, after 38 trips, meals are huge, we opt to share one meal, breakfasts are huge, never any lunch unless its a pool picnic with chicken from FW or groceries from the store and usually a casual meal at our resort or the best we've found are the buffets at FW, reasonable price than the rest of the world and only a boat ride away.

Good ideas so far everyone. I am still deciding if it is better to pay OOP for meals or pay for dining. The last two times we went, we had the dining and we loved it, especially with little ones who love going to the character meals.

Question: If I book as "room only" and want to add dining before our arrival, after the end of November (when I will know for sure if there are / aren't going to be any room only codes) can I change to a package at that point?

I think the deadline for the dining plan is 2-5 days ahead of time. People have posted various time frames. I know someone posted recently who was trying to add it at around 48 hours out and was having a problem.
