room only and package question.

We arrive on a friday night late and depart the following Saturday early.

I have room only booked already.

Really want to do the dining but understand no room discounts can be applied to the package?

Could I do 3 seperate ressies?

1st and 2nd night room only, then 5 nights package with dining an 6 day pass, then on last night room only?

If this IS possible when would my tickets and dining start and end?

I'm thinking it would start after check in Sunday through check out Friday?

Does this make sense?

maybe i am not understanding the new packages correctly, but why not do the package the whole time... get only a five or six day park pass (the number of days on pass does not have to coordinate w/the number of nights you stay) and get the dining option for the entire trip, using up your extra day's food during the full days you are there... w/the dining plan you can use as many or as few of your meals/snacks per day just as long as you don't attempt to use more than you have allotted (lol) and of course it would be a shame to use less... for the sit-down restaurants, splurge and go to a high end restaurant that sucks up two meals off your card or eat three meals some other day (instead of the two that are allotted)... does that make sense?

I guess it does make sense, I just can't justify the not getting a room discount at all for an eight night stay just to do the dining. I calculated on out last trip we spent approx. 120 a day on food and only had 3 sit down meals. So for $30 more a day we could do ALOT more including hoop (which we've never done. i guess if I were actually going to SAVE money with the dining plan I would feel better.

okay, that makes sense, i was not thinking about a discount on room only ressies (duh @ me!)...

does anyone know if the meal plan "expires" on the day you check out, or could you use it for a few days after? if it doesn't expire immediately it might be worth it to make two ressies, the first one w/meal plan, second w/room only discount and then you can spread your meals over as many days as you are there...

My understanding is that it is for the number of nights you are checked in. So it does expire after checkout.

It expires at midnight on the last day that you have it listed for. The food plan does not have to match your night's stay or your ticket legnth, at least to my understanding. So, if you activate the pass on Monday for 5 days, you will have Monday-Friday at midnight to use the meals.

When I got a quote from the Disney website, one of the few to get through on the site, we were looking at 5 night stay but a 7 day pass. The Disney site gave me 5 days of meals. When I got a quote from our AAA agent, he gave me 7 days of meals. I asked for a quote of 6 days of meals and he gave me that, too. What I would ultimatly want if we do the meal plan is 7 day pass, 6 days of meals and 5 nights at the hotel (we would arrive Mon am, so need at least 2 meals Monday, 3 meals Tue-Fri and 2-3 meals Sat). The seven day pass is only because it is only $6 more then the same 6 day pass for the 5 of us, total, and if our planned day at the ocean isn't working because of weather, we will hit the parks for another day. If we don't use the 7th day, we are only out $6.
