Hi, I'm planning our first stay as DVC members. My dd wants to have a few friends stay at either OKW or BWV for one night. I plan on a 1 bedroom so that I can have privacy and let the girls stay in the living room. Are we allowed to have cots in there? I would stay in the bedroom with my younger dd. In other words, my book says occupancy is 4 in the 1 bedroom. Can more than 4 stay if you have a cot? Thanks!

Officially, the 1BR is for four. There has been a lot of prior debate on this board (which your post may start again) as to people having 5 and Disney's being loose in allowing more than the maximum. Many believe exceeding the allowed maximum number is wrong and many believe it is OK particularly since Disney has allowed it. Both sides have vehemently debated the issue here. Thus, I am just giving fair warning that your post may lead to some vociferous replies. In your situation, you are basically talking about a 1 night kids sleepover while there and I do not think you will have any problem. However, you will not be able to get a cot from the hotel (they are not available). I would recommend just having the visitor bring a sleeping bag for the night .

the master bedroom as a king bed, the livingroom has a queen size sleeper sofa - also at old key west there is next to this sofa a love seat that should be big enough for a small child to sleep on - however YOU must bring extra sheets and blankets - DVC will only have enough for the bed and the sleeper sofa.

The stated occupancy is 4 plus a child under 3. Any request for an exception should be made to DVC. None of us have the power to determine changes to or bending of the stated policy.

In the past when DVC has made an exception, they have told the members they are unable to provide bedding or towels for any extra guests above the stated occupancy. Rollaways, cots etc. are not available from the resort.

Please, please, please remember that many of the one bedroom units have a lockout studio connected to the livingroom. If your daughter and her friends are partying all night in the living room, they need to be considerate of anyone staying in the adjoining studio-- the noise comes through that door quite clearly and they could be causing problems for the folks trying to sleep next door.
